Mechanical movement
The mechanical BRÜGGLER clockwork, featuring an automatic wind up mechanism (TVRITIA HB 28-929), is available in two versions: a white date and dial with black figures, or optionally with a black date and dial with white figures. BRÜGGLER relies on a high quality Swiss movement which has established its reputation in terms of precision and robustness over the years: the ETA 2892-A2 (ETA SA, Manufacture Horlogère Suisse, founded 1856). The 28.9.29 indicates also the birth date of Heidi Brüggler - the founder’s mother. For this reason it is named HB 28-929.
The ETA 2892 replaced the ETA 2890 that has been produced between 1975 to 1983. The ETA 2892-A2 has been used in the OMEGA Sea- and Speed Master as well as the IWC Ingenieur and many other luxury brands. Some independent watchmakers judge the movement 2892-A2 as one of the most accurate and reliable movement in the world. A detailed technical analysis leading to this judegement you find under:

We engrave and fine adjust the movement to perfection. With 0 to +6 sec./day of deviation our movements are fine adjusted to be about 30-40% more accurate on an average basis than required by ETA and the renowned COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) standard (which does require -4 to +6 sec./day). COSC has many diffrent test criteria. You may find them under: http://www.cosc.ch/faq2.php?lang=en
What makes the base caliber ETA 2892-A2 so special? At the end it's a great design with intelligently chosen improvements made over many decades, step by step. Our version 'TOP' is also superbly executed. It incorporates all the latest knowledge and advances in both materials and movement design. Its generous supply of available torque means that it will not be easily stopped, even when powering extra complications such as the chronograph.
Constructed on a base just 3.6 mm in height and with a diameter of 25.6 mm, Dubois Dépraz SA, founded 1902 in the Vallée de Joux, created the Modul 2222. Specialised in complicated under-dial work, Dubois Dépraz has expertise with our base caliber. The mass surface flywheel, embellished with Côtes de Genève, is completed with an entwined Colimaconne-adornment at its rim. On the flywheel you’ll find BRÜGGLER’s company name (TVRITA Zürich) engraved in gold (3N). To have a well knon modular chronograph movement is also a great advantage in regard to service costs.
