BRÜGGLER The story

All started with Katarina's love and wish to offer her husband something truly personal and unique for his birthday. Something beautiful that would remind him how much she loves him and how special and unique he is. A tailor made luxury chronograph came in her mind. The idea however turned out to be a very expensive and complex undertaking. But Katarina's love and entrepreneurial spirit did not end with a lucky charm for her husband. A Swiss start-up with fresh values, unconventional ideas and a real passion for horology was founded in consequence.

Katarina: 'We believe that the pursuit of individuality completes the owner’s personality and we are certain that beautiful, unique things mirror these values. For me to own or give something truly unique to a person I love is the ultimate grail of luxury. I believe in quality and that individuality makes you happy. It was clear from the beginning that I want to specialise in creating unique tailor made luxury watches to start with.

Michael: 'To design and finally wear your very own DNA on your wrist is a very satisfying experience. A watch you design for yourself becomes a personal lucky charm. Wearing happiness on your wrist is what comes to my mind. It's real fun to try out the configurator. You can create very different designs with only a view clicks in a photorealistic animation. I believe our watch creator was nominated for the German Design Award 2017. It's a cool design tool. But our prime objective was also to avoid any compromise in regard to quality. I assured that behind every click only the very best Swiss artisans and watchmakers are assuring an outstanding quality. With our partners we have several hundred years of watch making competence behind us. Our partners and employees are the backbone of our company. Bringing the fine art of Swiss watchmaking with our web based customizing tool at the fingertip of our clients makes our tailor made chronograph much more affordable. And it made it possible to reduce delivery time down to six weeks. I truly love what we are doing and every morning I look after the newly made creations with impatience.'

Swiss Made to Measure
Our claim on each dial means much more than Swiss Made. Swiss Made to Measure is our own quality seal and means we produce 100% in Switzerland under highest quality standards and documented controls. Our chronographs unite Swiss craftsmanship with functional elegance. All mechanical components of a BRÜGGLER are perfectly attuned. They originate unfailingly from Swiss companies that have been judged 'best in class' and embody the result of a search of several years that led us into small and forgotten valleys of the Swiss Jura. Our chronographs have nothing in common with watches made in large quantities or at common quality standards. Unique and of exaggerated quality our chronographs are for personalities who value individuality and quality over all.

How can 'high quality' be defined? Some quality features of BRÜGGLER chronographs might explain what we understand under 'high quality':

Our anthracite DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) case coating is the best (hardest) coating we know off. With 5'300 Vickers, the coating is 3 to 4 times harder than a PVD coating and harder than any other DLC coating we know. The coating cost also 3-4 times more but assures that your watchcase stays without scratches. We provide 4 years of guarantee.

Our automatic chronograph movement is fine tuned to 0 to +6 seconds average deviation per day. This means it is on an average basis about 40% more precise than what the renowned Swiss COSC standard (-4 to +6 seconds / day) does require. Many luxury watch brands label their chronograph's as 'officially certified chronometer - COSC'. Obviously that does not make sense for our chronographs. Our movement was enhanced over many decades and is one of the most reliable and robust in the word. Quality means also to document what was measured and checked. We provide the original test protocols and checklists with our hand signed guarantee booklet.

Our watchcase with a screwed down crown is extremely precise and therefore water resistant to 200 meters (20 bar). The quality of a tailor made service is also measured by its choice. Where else can you choose between so many engraving options on your bezel or even set precious stones on your bezel? Diamonds are a girls best friend - the choice is yours. We just assure quality: A diamond bezel consits of 51 diamonds with a ø of 2 mm or 1.61ct in the size of 32/24. The quality of the diamonds is VVS/Top Wesselton and the colour is F/G. Integrated, round sewn genuine leather braclets tailor made to your wrist size with a fine ajustable folding clasp and a 'finger nail' friendly opening mechanism is something very exclusive and nobel. Such options and a delivery time of only 6 weeks sets us apart in the world of tailor made luxury chronographs.

Our dials are pure luxury. Sun-brushed and made out of silver with a slightly transparent colour varnish they shimmer in wide range. To the best of our knowledge we don't know where else you can chose between four different materials for the minute markers and choose between 27 luminescent colours. Such unique options are making real creativity possible. All this options are allowing you to design the perfectly attuned luxury accessory.

During November 2015 our first chronographs where presented to the public at watch fairs in Paris, London and Munich. Clients instantly appreciated the idea and fun of designing and owning a very personal and unique watch. 

We visit our clients wherever they are and advise and help them where needed. Clients can see and touch our watches during such meetings or in affiliated retail stores. In the retail stores we normaly do not offer our tailor made service but the most beautiful designs as limited edition.
